As kids, we are all taught the story of the gingerbread man—a little man who was baked as a snack and ran away.
He made it a long way until a fox tricked him into making his escape only to be eaten by the said woodland creature.
The history of the gingerbread man is diverse, and not all gingerbread is as taunting as the one made so famous in the children's tale.

The MCA is ready to have a fresh election for its central committee (CC) in March at the latest if the current election mechanism is used, said deputy president Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek.
Any earlier date would not be conducive, if not feasible.
"The school holidays have just started and many central delegates have already made plans to take their children for holidays.
"This is followed by Christmas, New Year and Chinese New Year," said Dr Chua in an interview.

GILROY, Calif., Nov. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- The hardworking "elves" at Gilroy Gardens Family Theme Park are making a list and checking it twice to ensure the sixth annual Holiday Lights (TM) is twice as nice!
The lights in the trees and throughout the park will not be the only element to light up the night sky this year as we have added "Nights of Fire" a laser light and fireworks spectacular.
This Laser light and fireworks show which is choreographed to a spectacular holiday sound track on Coyote Lake is sure to be a crowd favorite this holiday season.

Stepfamilies often experience extraordinary stress as the holidays--with their pressure cooker of "family" expectations--get underway.
While they now outnumber first families in the U.S., many stepfamily members report feeling second-best or somehow deficient when our thoughts turn to turkey, yultide, and latkahs.
This is due in large part to so many of us unrealistically expecting stepfamilies to be just like first families--super close, ultra-cohesive, and happy, happy, happy.

Though it's not even quite Thanksgiving, I couldn't help but feel the Christmas spirit last night (Nov. 19) as my husband and I stood outside Nashville's Gaylord Opryland Hotel .
We were sipping hot apple cider and waiting anxiously with hundreds of others gathered to witness the ceremonial lighting of more than two million sparkling lights.
It was the official kickoff of the hotel's "A Country Christmas," a series of holiday festivities that will take place through January.
